Staff Pharmacist
Description
General Function:
As a Staff Pharmacist, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper dispensing, compounding, review, and verification of prescribed medications within regulatory guidelines, company policies and procedures. Assist the pharmacy manager in identifying ways to optimize pharmacy services and improve customer experience. Ensure a professional image by providing courteous, friendly, and exceptional customer service to customers and team members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform pharmacist tasks including dispensing, compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management
- Dispense prescribed medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical guidelines
- Provide counseling on medication usage, side effects, and precautions to customers and caregivers
- Perform sterile and non-sterile compounding of medications in accordance with established protocols and regulatory standards.
- Perform immunizations on a regular basis
- Provide guidance and support to pharmacy technicians and other support staff
- Assist pharmacy manager with establishing procedures that promotes the efficient workflow of the pharmacy
- Assist the Pharmacist-in-Charge with staff training
- Responsible for the opening and closing of the pharmacy
- Maintain a positive attitude
- Excellent customer service skills with a customer focused attitude
- Motivate, inspire and assist with development of pharmacy support staff
- Promote teamwork and motivate team members
- Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Characteristics:
- 1-3 years of retail pharmacy experience
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent team player skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy School; preferably with a Pharm. D. degree
- Clinical Pharmacy Practitioner a plus
- Current NC Board of Pharmacy license
